About Me
Xing Gao
My journey to becoming a CPA started in Beijing and brought me to Washington, D.C. in 2011, where I earned my Master's in Accounting from George Washington University. Over the next decade, I worked in nonprofit finance, ran the accounting department for a small government contractor, and spent six years at Bloomberg researching tax and accounting policy.

But the work that truly shaped my career happened during evenings and weekends. For more than 10 years, I volunteered with the D.C. Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign and the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, helping people from all walks of life navigate their taxes. Sitting across the table from families, small business owners, and individuals who just needed someone to listen and guide them. That's when I realized what I wanted to do with my career.

In 2018, I went back to school for my MBA at Georgetown, with one goal in mind: to start my own practice where I could work directly with the people I wanted to serve. I launched that practice in 2020.

Today, I work as a Senior Finance Manager while maintaining my own practice, where I help individuals and small businesses with tax filing, financial reporting, and strategic planning. I believe in building long-term relationships that start with truly getting to know my clients, their goals, their challenges, and what matters most to them. Many of my clients have been with me for years, and that continuity means everything to me.
What matters most isn't just getting the numbers right, it's creating relationships where my clients feel heard, supported, and confident about their financial decisions.
